A family care assistant is a professional who provides support to people who are fully or partially dependent, in their home environment or when they are hospitalised.

Their role is crucial to ensure continuous care for elderly, ill or disabled people or people with other special needs, improving the quality of life of those assisted and of their families.

In today’s society, the ageing of the population, together with the reduced capacity of the State to provide free social care, makes the private family care assistant increasingly important in ensuring that families receive the help they need.

Recognition of this training credit exempts them from attending 90 hours of work placement. These participants are nonetheless required to complete at least 30 hours of work placement.
